Cochi — help and contact

What is Cochi?

Cochi plans your week: you tell us your budget, how many of you there are, what you like to eat and which store you shop at. Cochi then suggests dishes that fit your budget. You swipe through the suggestions, keep what you like, and get a ready-made shopping list, sorted by your route through the store. While cooking, Cochi guides you step by step through every recipe.

Cochi is free and shows no ads.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to sign up?

No. You can use Cochi right away, without a name, without an email address and without a password. In the background, the app creates an anonymous session so that your plans are saved.

How do I sign in so I can find my plan again on a new phone?

  1. Open Profile and tap "Add number".
  2. Enter your mobile number and tap "Request code".
  3. You will receive a text message (SMS) with a six-digit code. Enter it and tap "Confirm".

On a new phone, do the same with the same number. Your plans, your pantry and your shopping lists will then be back. The code is valid for five minutes; you can request a new one after a short wait.

How do I delete my account?

  1. Open Profile.
  2. Tap "Delete account".
  3. Confirm with "Yes, delete permanently".

This immediately deletes your account and all your data: plans, shopping lists, pantry, household, dietary information and your phone number. Prices you have reported remain only in anonymised form in the shared price history and can no longer be linked to you. Deletion cannot be undone.

If you can no longer get into the app (for example because your phone is gone), write to us at hallo@thespoon.ai and tell us the phone number you had added. We will then delete the account for you.

What is the difference between "Sign out" and "Delete account"?

Sign out removes your data from this phone only. You can sign in again with your number. If you have not added a number, you will no longer be able to access this account afterwards. Delete account removes everything, including on our server.

Are the prices accurate?

The prices are estimates. They are based on publicly available offers and leaflets, on average prices and on reports from other users. Where a price is estimated, it is marked "approx." or shows when it was last seen. The price in the store may differ. The price at the checkout always applies.

After shopping, you can enter in the app what you actually paid. That helps you and everyone else.

How reliable is "Halal"?

Cochi checks ingredients according to fixed rules, for example for gelatine, alcohol or animal rennet. Where the information is not clear, we show "Doubtful" with a reason instead of guessing. This does not replace a halal certification.

Why does Cochi need my location?

Only to show you the nearest stores first during setup. Your location is not stored. You can decline permission and choose your store yourself.

Which languages is Cochi available in?

In German and English, Arabic, Turkish, Spanish, Polish, Persian and Urdu. You choose the language when you get started or later in your profile; recipes and cooking mode follow it.

What happens to my data?

In short: no ads, no tracking, no selling of data, servers in Germany. Everything else is in the privacy policy.
